Responding to a site with numerous restraints, a new, modern gable stands confidently in front of the towers of the existing structure. The gable serves as a mask, allowing the towers to be used as private living areas. Public living occurs in this minimalist open space, articulated with artful lighting, rich materials, and the creation of a dynamic stair connection to the open lower floor studio area. The new spaces become their own retreat.
