Sited under a grove of mature plantings and sited to maximize solar gain, the design is a study of the interplay between light, texture, and vernacular sensibilities. These elements come together forming a simple, elegant form rich in its geometries. Emphasizing the unifying concept of a home as a living machine, the window and door systems were chosen to have a blackened commercial metal system with oversized industrial jambs.
